James Preston Butler, 22, of Coral, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born Dec. 29, 1987, the son of Carol Butler and James C. Shirley.
James was employed by Roseanne’s Everyday Gourmet. He enjoyed tinkering with cars and motorcycles and loved collecting scrap metal. He also loved four-wheeling and mud bogging. James was the type of person who would do anything for anyone.
He is survived by his mother, Carol Butler; a brother, Devin Butler, at home; and his father, James C. Shirley; a sister, Stephanie Mae Shirley; his step-mother, Diane Shirley; and a step-brother, Travis Strube, all of Sussex County, N.J.; his maternal grandmother, Ginger Bish, of Indiana; his paternal grandparents, Jim and Florence Shirley, of Homer City; his step-father, George Zayac; his step-sisters, Shauna and Lisa Zayac, all at home; special family friends, Jackie and Frank Cipollini and Kevin, all of Waterman; his best friends, Andy Elliott and Mark “Bubba” Sandolfini; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
James was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Frank Butler; an uncle, Brian Shirley; and his maternal and paternal great-grandparents.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Interment will follow in the Armagh Cemetery.
