Ronald "Ronn" L. Hudzick, 58, of Indiana, died Saturday, April 14, 2012, at his home.
The son of Andy and Florence Marie (Wissinger) Hudzick Jr., he was born on Sept.18, 1953, in Indiana.
Ronn was a 1971 graduate of Purchase Line High School and a 1975 graduate of Lock Haven University.
He was an active member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Indiana. Some of his favorite church activities were focused on missions.
He especially looked forward to participating in mission trips. Ron initiated the Handyperson's Ministry at the church and ran the sound equipment for church services.
He was involved in the Easter presentations, the Singles Ministry and the church softball, basketball and volleyball teams, where he was known for being a very supportive and enthusiastic team member.
For the past two years, Ronn had been employed by the U.S. Department of Justice in Rockville, Md., as an information technology analyst. His most recent local employment had been at the S & T Bank.
Ronn thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the local community. He spent countless hours volunteering at various community events and fundraisers.
An outdoorsman, Ronn was a life member of the Keystone Elk Country Alliance (KECA). Two of his favorite hobbies were golfing and hunting.
Ronn was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler and Altoona Curve fan. He was also involved with Firefly Productions.
He was a man who was always willing to help out anyone -- his friends, relatives and neighbors were all recipients of Ronn's kind and giving nature.
Ronn is survived by his two sons, Thomas Hudzick and Paul Hudzick; his two grandsons, Louis and Andrew Hudzick; his two brothers, Michael A. Hudzick and wife Clarine Beatty, of Commodore, and David C. Hudzick, of Las Vegas; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Ronn was preceded in death by his mother on Aug. 29, 1980, and his father on Nov. 2, 1993.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Rairigh Funeral Home Ltd. in Hillsdale, where an 11 a.m. funeral service will be held Thursday with the Rev. Dr. Bradford L. Lauster officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Indiana.
