LEE VEST: Plaza welcome, but don't forget Marsh Run
I read the March 27 article about the downtown Indiana plaza project with great interest.
“The project’s goal is to create an attractive, welcoming environment that supports economic development and improves the quality of life.”
New decorative lighting, new trees, benches and other amenities and hidden utilities are wonderful things.
As visitors sit on those new benches and ponder how wonderful Indiana is, I wish they could know that less than four blocks away, Marsh Run perennially floods the area and costs borough residents thousands of dollars.
Years ago, the Indiana Borough council promised that the Marsh Run flooding would be fixed on a case-by-case basis.
When will the residents affected by flooding experience economic development and improved quality of life?
