Letter to the editor: Triathlon organizers grateful for support

on August 13, 2014 11:00 AM

The 18th annual Jackie Kallal Triathlon was very successful in spite of the fact that there were fewer participants this year than in the recent past.

Habitat for Humanity of Indiana County would like to express an immeasurable appreciation and thanks to the Yellow Creek park staff, all athletes who actively participated by swimming, bicycling, running, and those who gave of their time to volunteer. Thanks also go to The Indiana Gazette and Dustin Filloy in particular for the fine coverage.

These Indiana area medal sponsors helped make our event possible:

Gold medal sponsors: Indiana First Bank and First Summit Bank; silver medal sponsors: Dr. Don Gibbon Medical Consulting, Kallal & Langton Families and Friends; bronze medal sponsors: Tri Star Motors, Grace United Methodist Church, Indiana Schwinn Cycling and Fitness and First Commonwealth Bank. Other sponsors included Brown Chiropractic, Germany United Methodist Church, Indiana Fire Police Association, Roseann’s Everyday Gourmet, Sheetz, IUP, McDonalds and Trailz End Bicycle Shop.

Anyone wishing to help with our local Habitat for Humanity chapter is encouraged to stop at 267 Olive St. in Indiana any Saturday.

Mel Woodard

vice president, Habitat for Humanity

of Indiana County

Becky Kallal-Perkovich
