BURRELL TOWNSHIP — A late-afternoon traffic accident forced the partial closure of Route 22 in Burrell Township for about a half-hour to 45 minutes on Saturday.

According to Randy McKendrick. Black Lick Volunteer Fire Company’s third assistant fire chief, a car and a commercial tanker truck collided at 4:23 p.m. in the highway’s westbound lanes at Lintner Road. McKendrick said the driver of the car was entrapped and had to be freed from the vehicle. The driver was then taken to a hospital, McKendrick said.

In addition to his department, state police and Blairsville firefighters were summoned. No other information was available Saturday night.
