Derry Township, Westmoreland County: A Blairsville motorcyclist was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 6:10 p.m. Wednesday, according to state police at Greensburg.
Police said Patrick Oviatt, 22, of Blairsville, was riding a motorcycle north on Route 217 and started to pass a car driven by Vincent Serwinski, 40, of Blairsville. Police said Serwinski did not see the motorcycle and also attempted to pass a vehicle, causing his car to hit the side of the cycle.
Police said the impact caused the motorcycle to hit a guiderail and Oviatt fell onto the highway.
He was injured and taken to University Presbyterian Medical Center in Pittsburgh. A hospital spokeswoman said today that he is in fair condition.
Serwinski was not hurt, according to police.
