Indiana County :: A number of traffic accidents were reported to the Indiana County 911 dispatch center Monday as snow and ice accumulated on roads in sub-freezing temperatures.
Emergency responders were sent to assist at several accidents, for which no details have yet been provided by police:
- The Brush Valley fire company was sent to help following an accident at 5:37 p.m. on Old Mission Road in Brush Valley Township.
- The Marion Center fire department assisted at the scene of a wreck at 3:42 p.m. on Johnston Road in East Mahoning Township.
- Earlier, Marion Center units were dispatched following a report of an accident on Richmond Road in East Mahoning Township at 12:37 p.m.
A pickup truck driven by Malinda Miller, of Saltsburg, slid on ice on Route 403 near 24 Road at 12:55 a.m. Monday, hit an embankment and rolled onto its side.
No one was reported to be injured.
The Clymer fire department assisted police at the scene.
South Mahoning Township
A truck driven by Chad Fravel, of Vandergrift, hit a utility pole and an embankment at 6:15 p.m. Monday along Route 210 near Township Road 724, according to state police.
Troopers reported no one was hurt.
Citizens' Ambulance Service and the Plumville volunteer fire department also responded.
Big Run, Jefferson County
State police reported a sport utility vehicle driven by Jonathan Bair, of Valier, hit a fire hydrant at 5:25 a.m. Monday along Route 119 near Tyson Street.
No one was injured, according to troopers at Punxsutawney.
