A Punxsutawney man was uninjured when the emergency brake failed in his truck as it was parked along Route 36, state police at Punxsutawney reported.

Michael Brudnock, 73, had already got out of his truck when it began to coast down the highway around 8:45 a.m. Friday. It struck an embankment on the west side of Route 36, then crossed the road and struck another embankment on the east side.

Heading north, the truck hit into a gazebo in someone’s yard on the west side of the highway.

After continuing to coast for a short distance, the vehicle stopped after hitting into a cluster of trees, police said.

The truck was towed from the scene.
