East Wheatfield Township

State police reported that a station wagon driven by Susan Spicher, of Indiana, hit a deer at 5 p.m. Monday on Route 403. No one was reported to be injured.

Conemaugh Township

A car driven by David Mardis, of Saltsburg, traveled 50 feet into a ravine along Clarksburg Road north of Marshall Road at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, state police at Indiana reported.

Mardis, 44, was treated by Citizens’ Ambulance Service paramedics for what police called a moderate injury, then was sent by medical helicopter to Forbes Regional Health Center, according to a news release.

Canoe Township

State police reported that a farm tractor towing a hay baler caught fire while Jeremy Manzo, of Worthville, Jefferson County, was operating it on Locust Lane at 4:32 p.m. Sept. 27.

Troopers at Punxsutawney, classifying the incident as a traffic accident, reported that the flames engulfed the tractor and damaged the baler. No one was reported to be injured.

Derry Township, Westmoreland County

A minivan driven by Daniel Horwat, of Latrobe, Westmoreland County, traveled off Snyder Street at Latrobe Derry Road and became disabled at 2:50 a.m. Sept. 22, state police at Greensburg reported today.

No injuries were reported.

Narcotics

Nathan Wright Jr., 20, of Philadelphia, was charged by Indiana University of Pennsylvania campus police with possession of a small amount of marijuana and underage drinking after officers discovered contraband at 7:21 p.m. Thursday when he entered Kovalchick Convention & Athletic Complex for a concert.
