BLAIRSVILLE DISTRICT COURT DOCKET

Numerous defendants have been named on criminal charges filed in the Blairsville district court before Magisterial District Judge Jennifer Rega.

Criminal complaints and affidavits of probable cause are not evidence of guilt in a criminal case. Defendants are entitled to legal representation and have the right to question the witnesses and evidence presented against them during preliminary hearings in the district court and at trials in the county court of common pleas.

Charged are:

Toni Danelle Yakemik, 26, Blue Street, Saltsburg, charged Oct. 4 by state police with two counts of possession of controlled substances and two counts of driving under the influence of the drug morphine, according to court documents. She was also charged with four summary traffic violations at 12:11 a.m. on McIntyre Road, Young Township. The charges were held for court.

Joshua Alan Vasas, 32, Philadelphia Street, Armagh, charged Oct. 2 by state police with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and four summary traffic violations at 2:45 a.m. May 26 on State Highway 8008, East Wheatfield Township. Vasas had a blood alcohol content of 0.20 percent, according to court documents. The charges were held for court.

Arthur David Smith, 27, Philadelphia, charged Oct. 6 by Indiana Borough police with one felony count of fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, DUI, disorderly conduct and six summary traffic violations at 6:24 p.m. Oct. 6. His BAC was not reported in court documents. All charges were waived to court.

Eric Jose Santiago, 24, Ridge Avenue, Homer City, charged Oct. 7 by state police with one felony count of aggravated assault and misdemeanor charges of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, resisting arrest or other law enforcement, three counts of disorderly conduct, and harassment between 7 p.m. and 7:48 p.m. Oct. 7 on State Route 119, White Township. All charges were waived for court.

Nathan Edward Rothermund, 31, Johnstown, charged Oct. 15 by state police with two counts of DUI and four summary traffic violations at 12 a.m. Sept. 8 on State Route 22, Blairsville. According to court documents, Rothermund had a BAC of 0.28 percent. All charges were waived for court.

Cheryl Bevard, 41, Philadelphia Street, Armagh, charged Oct. 18 by state police with DUI and two summary traffic violations at 3:20 a.m., Sept. 16, on State Route 22, East Wheatfield Township. Bevard had a BAC of 0.11 percent, according to court records. The charges were waived for court.

Fred Joseph Eaton, 50, Newport Road, Clarksburg, charged Oct. 23 by state police with DUI and two summary traffic violations at 10:40 p.m., Aug. 24, on State Route 286 at Tunnelton Road. Eaton's BAC was 0.11 percent, according to court documents. All charges were waived for court.

Virginia Mae Jones, 34, Trolley Street, Black Lick, charged Oct. 24 by state police with two counts of DUI and four summary traffic violations at 5:25 p.m. Sept. 22 at Palmerton Road and Mock Street, Burrell Township. According to court documents, Jones was driving with a BAC of 0.22 percent.

Charges were waived for court.

Thomas James Thompson, 30, Market Street, Blairsville, charged Oct. 29 by Blairsville police with simple assault, harassment, and disorderly conduct on Oct. 29, on East Market Street, Blairsville. The charges were held for court.

Lisa Anne Dispenza, 27, Old Bridge, N.J., charged Oct. 4 by state police with felony counts of theft by unlawful taking or disposition and receiving stolen property between noon and 1:30 p.m. July 12 at Chestnut Ridge Road, Burrell Township. Dispenza waived her right to a preliminary hearing and will face the charges in court.
