Firefighters from Black Lick and Blairsville were summoned to a small trash fire that spread to a garage in Burrell Township Thursday afternoon.

According to the Black Lick fire department, a Chestnut Ridge Road resident was burning trash in a 55-gallon drum. However, the fire spread to some leaves next to the garage, setting it on fire around 12:35 p.m. However, the fire was extinguished quickly and damage was limited to the exterior of the building.

No one was injured. Crews remained at the scene for about a half-hour. (Jamie Empfield/Gazette photo)
