JOHNSTOWN — An Indiana County man suspected of burglarizing an office earlier this year has been captured by federal agents in Johnstown.

U.S. marshals from the Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force arrested James Shaffer Jr., of Rochester Mills, on Thursday in the attic of a residence where he was found hiding behind some debris, officials said.

Shaffer, 29, was charged with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy connected with a break-in at 2:55 a.m. Jan. 19 at Aztec Well Service along Airport Road in White Township.

A suspected accomplice, Natalie Livingston, was arrested in January and charged with the same offenses. At the time, state police obtained a warrant for Shaffer’s arrest and asked the public for assistance in locating him.

Officials at the U.S. Marshals Service reported that Shaffer also was wanted on warrants issued in Cambria and Jefferson counties, where he faces theft and related charges.

Deputies from the Cambria County sheriff’s office and state parole agents took part in the search and Shaffer’s capture, marshals reported.
