GRANT TOWNSHIP — A fire of undetermined origin Wednesday night destroyed a building used as a hunting camp in a remote area outside Rochester Mills, officials said.

Volunteers from the Marion Center, Commodore, Rossiter and Perry Township fire departments were sent out beginning at 10:44 p.m. to the scene of the fire, an unoccupied structure at 826 Nashville Road. The Plumville fire company was placed on standby at the Marion Center fire station.

Galen Moore, assistant chief of the Marion Center fire company, said no one was injured. Firefighters were told that the cabin belonged to someone from Pittsburgh but the owner’s name was not available.

Officials asked the state police fire marshal’s office to investigate for the cause of the fire.
