Numerous defendants have been named in criminal charges filed before Magisterial District Judge Susanne Steffee, of Homer City.

Criminal complaints and affidavits of probable cause are not evidence of guilt in a criminal case. Defendants are entitled to legal representation and have the right to question the witnesses and evidence presented against them during preliminary hearings in the district court and at trials in the county court of common pleas.

Charged were:

  • James Robert Shaffer Jr., 29, of Rochester Mills, charged Jan. 27 by state police with felony counts of entering a building with no person present, theft by unlawful taking or disposition, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief on Jan. 19 at Aztec Well Services in White Township. The case is still active.
  • Joseph Lawrence Stumpf IV, 21, of Route 422, Penn Run, and Madison Rachele Bruner, 21, of Parkwood Road, Shelocta, charged Feb. 14 by state police with retail theft and two misdemeanors between 5:30 and 6 p.m. Dec. 11 at the Oakland Avenue Walmart, White Township. The case is still active.
  • Justin Clark Spiaggi, 29, of Church Street, Indiana, charged Feb. 20 by Homer City police with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance at 9:15 p.m. Nov. 19 in Homer City. The charges were waived for court.
  • Stacie Marie Yanity, 34, of South Fourth Street, Indiana, charged Feb. 22 by state police with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and four summary charges at 11:50 p.m. Jan. 12 on State Route 286 in Center Township. According to court documents, Yanity’s blood alcohol content was 0.21 percent at the time of arrest. The case is still active.
  • David Michael Neff, 25, of Stable Road, Indiana, charged Feb. 8 by state police with two counts of DUI and two summary charges at 1:05 p.m. Oct. 30 on State Route 119 in White Township. According to court documents, Neff was under the influence of morphine at the time of arrest. The case is still active.
  • Frederick J. Martin, 56, of Meade Street, Homer City, charged Feb. 8 by state police with two counts of DUI and four summary charges at 9:55 Jan. 30 on Bethel Church Road in Center Township. According to court documents, Martin’s BAC was 0.21 percent at the time of arrest. The case is still active.
  • Steven James Oswalt, 27, of Parkwood Road, Shelocta, and Tiffy Oswalt, 23, of Brady Drive, Indiana, charged Feb. 14 by state police with theft by deception and two misdemeanors at 6 p.m. Dec. 11 at the Oakland Avenue Walmart, White Township. The case is still active.
  • Tina Marie Homyak, 41, of Johnstown, charged Feb. 25 by state police with harassment between Jan. 11 and Feb. 17 on Jefferson Avenue in Center Township. The case is still active.
  • Anthony Michael Spiaggi, 36, of East Church Street, Homer City, charged Feb. 22 by Homer City police with felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, delivery of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility at 8:45 p.m. Dec. 6 in Homer City Borough. The case is still active.
  • Auriahna Claudett Price, 23, of Poulos Road, Indiana, charged Feb. 6 by state police with theft by unlawful taking or disposition at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 29 at the BP gas station on Route 422 in Armstrong Township. The case is still active.
  • Jeremy Michael Clawson, 33, of Church Street, Indiana, charged Feb. 27 by state police with four felony counts of manufacture or possession of a controlled substance and four misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance at 11:05 a.m. Nov. 20 at 41 Wood Ridge Drive, Center Township. The charge was waived for court.
  • Paul Scott Anderson, 38, of North Fifth Street, Indiana, charged Feb. 15 by state police with theft by unlawful taking on Dec. 8 at Wendy’s Restaurant, Oakland Avenue, White Township. The charge was waived for court.
  • Anthony Nelson Vaiana, 23, of North Ninth Street, Indiana, charged Feb. 3 by state police with two counts of DUI and driving without headlights at 2:57 a.m. Dec. 2 on West Pike in White Township. According to court documents, Vaiana’s BAC was 0.13 percent at the time of arrest. The case is still active.
  • Michael Paul Smith, 46, of Ligonier, charged March 1 by state police with two counts of DUI and eight other summary charges. According to court documents, Smith’s BAC was 0.16 percent at the time of arrest. The case is still active.
  • Christine Thibadeau Smatlak, 42, of Indiana Road, Creekside, charged March 3 by state police with felony counts of theft by deception and theft by failure to make required disposition of funds received and a misdemeanor on Aug. 20 at Indiana Auto Glass, White Township. The case is still active.
  • Brad Michael Smith, 31, of Fourth Street, Aultman, charged March 3 by state police with theft by deception on June 22 at PSECU in White Township. The case is still active.
  • Katie Jo McCracken, 23, of Cherry Avenue, Clymer, charged March 3 by state police with identity theft on Dec. 1, 2011, at TRG Services, Indiana Mall, White Township. The case is still active.
  • Leann Marie Knapik, 31, of Blakely Road, Shelocta, charged March 4 by state police with two counts of DUI and three summary charges at 2:40 a.m. Feb. 3 on West Pike, Armstrong Township. According to court documents, Knapik’s BAC was 0.13 percent at the time of arrest. The case is still active.
  • Oscar Dominguez Jr., 64, of 13th Street, Lucernemines, charged March 4 by state police with two counts of DUI and three summary charges at 2:34 a.m. Feb. 19 on Oakland Avenue in White Township. According to court documents, Domin-guez’s BAC was 0.13 percent at the time of arrest. The case is still active.
  • Rachael Marie Geletei, 34, of Josephine Avenue, Indiana, charged March 4 by state police with two counts of possession of a controlled substance on March 4 in the Walmart parking lot by Treasure Hunt, Oakland Avenue, White Township. The case is still active.
  • Devin Christopher Butler, 21, of Coral, charged March 4 by state police with possession of a controlled substance and a summary charge at 10:22 p.m. March 4 on Commonwealth Highway, Center Township. The case is still active.
  • Jason Richard Broadbent, 28, of Philadelphia Street, Indiana, charged March 4 by state police with theft by deception and retail theft at 5:37 p.m. March 2 at 3100 Oakland Ave., White Township. The case is still active.
  • Tyler McClure Cobb, 20, of Export, charged March 4 by state police with possession of a controlled substance at 12:20 p.m. Feb. 27 on Graceton Village Road, Center Township. The case is still active.
  • Jeremy Hon, 22, of South 13th Street, Indiana, charged March 6 by state police with two counts of DUI and three summary charges at 2:20 a.m. Feb. 5 on Oakland Avenue, White Township. According to court documents, Hon’s BAC was 0.13 percent at the time of arrest. The case is still active.
