Indiana County detectives arrested Omar Mohammed Alghamdi, 24, of Indiana, on charges of child pornography.

Detectives said they began an investigation after receiving a complaint of inappropriate contact between an adult and a child via a mobile application.

According to detectives, the Indiana County district attorney’s office and Indiana Borough police executed a search warrant at 6:10 a.m. Friday on Alghamdi’s apartment at 1302 Oakland Ave., and officers seized a computer, mobile phone and various storage media.

A review of some of the seized media revealed images of children, some as young as 6 years old, performing sex acts on an adult male.

Police said their investigation is continuing.

Alghamdi was charged with five counts of sexual abuse of children through child pornography between 2011 and the present.

He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge George Thachik and was committed to the Indiana County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
