KITTANNING (AP) — An Armstrong County man has been killed in what police believe was an alcohol-related crash on an all-terrain vehicle, while his friend was charged with drunken driving on another ATV.

Online court records don’t list an attorney for Sidney Ford, 47, of Cadogan, who was charged Saturday after police investigated the crash that killed his friend, David Toy, 39.

Toy, of West Franklin Township, wasn’t wearing a helmet and died of head injuries after state police say he crashed while riding along with Ford about 5:40 p.m. Saturday.

State police say Toy rode ahead of Ford and crashed into a tree, where Ford found his friend moments later.

Police say both men had been drinking.

Ford was being charged with drunken driving and illegally operating an ATV on a state road.
