BLACKLICK TOWNSHIP — A dog that ran off from its home was found shot along a Blacklick Township road last week, according to state police in Indiana.

Police said the dog, which belonged to Stacy Reed, of Blairsville, was found lying along Hill Road with a bullet lodged in its front leg.

Police said the dog was rushed to a veterinarian, but was put down after the owners were told it may never walk again and that it would have to have the injured leg amputated.

Police said a second dog, which also had run away from Reed’s home, remains missing.
