Motorcyclist injured in sideswiping

A motorcyclist suffered major injuries after sideswiping a passing vehicle on Route 56 in East Wheatfield Township last week.

According to state police in Indiana, Richard Bost, 41, of Brush Valley, was riding east when his motorcycle crossed the centerline and sideswiped a westbound vehicle driven by Debra J. Bennett, 57, of Homer City. Following the impact, Bost’s motorcycle crashed into a guardrail.

Police said Bost suffered major injuries and was taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown for treatment. No information was available on his condition this morning. Bennett was not injured. The accident occurred June 22, but police did not release information about it until Sunday night.
