One killed, two injured in Route 286 crash

A Butler County woman was killed Thursday afternoon and two other people were injured in a head-on crash on Route 286 east of Indiana in White Township.

State police reported Martha Sybert, 80, of Renfrew, died after the eastbound car she was driving crossed the center line of the highway about 4:15 p.m. and collided with a westbound pickup truck driven by John Stark, of Latrobe.

Sybert was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Troopers reported Stark, 48, and a passenger in the car, Matthew Sybert, 55, of Butler, were sent to Indiana Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
