Pipe ruptures, interrupts service

on January 30, 2014 10:55 AM

A break in a 6-inch main waterline in the 1200 block of Philadelphia Street left 20 Indiana Borough residents without water this morning, according to Josephine Posti, a spokeswoman for the Pennsylvania-American Water Company.

By about 8 a.m. Pennsylvania-American had shut down the line and an additional crew was on the way to take care of repairs.

Fixing the line could take anywhere from six to eight hours, Posti said. (Tom Peel/Gazette photo)
