INDIANA -- Public drunkenness ::  Borough police said they have cited Dan Bailey, 29, of Indiana, for public drunkenness. Police said they were investigating a possible theft around 8:15 p.m. Saturday someplace along the 300 block of South 13th Street when Bailey showed up at the scene. Police said he was intoxicated and caused a disturbance.

 

Disorderly conduct

Borough police said they cited Betsy Dakak, 51, of Indiana, for disorderly conduct around 7 p.m. Friday at a restaurant along the 600 block of Philadelphia Street. Police said Dakak was acting disruptively inside the restaurant, swearing at staff and throwing food on a counter. Police said she also refused to leave the restaurant when asked to do so.

 

Theft from vehicle

A GPS device was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked along the 1300 block of Church Street between Thursday night and Friday morning, according to borough police.

 

Prowler spotted

Borough police said a white man wearing blue jeans and a gray hooded sweatshirt was lurking around a home along the 500 block of Chestnut Street around 5:24 a.m. today. Anyone with any information has been asked to call police at (724) 349-2121.

 

Criminal mischief

Someone painted graffiti on a business along the 500 block of Gompers Avenue and on a roof top of a building along the 700 block, according to borough police. The incidents took place between 4 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday. Anyone with any information has been asked to call borough police.

 

WHITE TOWNSHIP

Vehicle theft

A truck belonging to Randall B. Jones, 53, of Homer City, was stolen early Wednesday morning while it was parked in a lot at 2018 S. Sixth St., according to state police in Indiana. The truck was found miles away on Saturday by troopers stationed at the Rockview barracks, headquartered in Bellefonte, Centre County.

 

Theft from vehicle

Someone took $100 from a vehicle belonging to Raymond Ruffner, 57, while it was parked in front of his Oakland Avenue home on Friday and Saturday, according to state police in Indiana. Police said the vehicle reportedly was locked, and there were no signs of forced entry.

 

Theft

A Shindaiwa string trimmer belonging to Maderer's Landscaping was stolen from 1380 Route 286 East while a crew was mowing the grass there on Friday, according to state police in Indiana. Police said the theft took place between 10:51 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Criminal mischief

Someone slashed a tire and damaged a bumper on a vehicle belonging to David William Smith, 22, of New Alexandria, on Thursday night while parked at the WyoTech collision building, according to state police in Indiana.

 

ARMSTRONG TOWNSHIP

Attempted burglary

Someone tried to break into the home of Robert Elgin, 77, of Route 422 West, on Aug. 10, according to state police in Indiana. Police said the burglar forced open a basement door and fled the scene in a white car. Anyone with any information has been asked to call police at (724) 357-1960.

 

YOUNG TOWNSHIP

Simple assault

State police in Indiana said they have charged Sydney Sieczkowski, 23, of Saltsburg, with or simple assault and harassment following an incident early Sunday morning at Clarksburg Valley Inn, 15334 Route 286. Police said Sieczkowski punched Jason Edward Rittenour, 29, of Clarksburg, in the face.

 

CANOE TOWNSHIP

Burglary

Someone broke into a garage at 986 Dug Hill Road and stole a .22-caliber semiautomatic handgun belonging to Jason Stamler, 28, of Rossiter, according to state police in Punxsutawney. The theft took place sometime between Aug. 13 and Sunday, police said. Anyone with any information has been asked to call police at (814) 938-0510.

 

EAST WHEATFIELD TOWNSHIP

Burglary

Someone broke into a garage at the home of Bruce Gongloff, 49, of 10386 Route 403 South, on Tuesday or Wednesday and also stole several items from outside of the home, according to state police in Indiana. Oil, bicycles and numerous tools were taken, police said.
