Indiana -- Heroin seized :: Indiana police said officers observed what they described as a suspicious male in the 800 block of Oak Street at 5:47 p.m. on May 18. When officers questioned the man, identified as Adam Vanderneck, 26, of Indiana, they found suspected drugs and paraphernalia.
The seized items were sent to the Pennslvania State Police Crime Lab in Greensburg. Based on those lab evaluations, Vanderneck was charged with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia.
At 12:52 a.m. on Sept. 4, Indiana police were called to the Sheetz store at 768 Wayne Avenue for a disorderly customer. Police said Joshua Collier, 24, of Mars, had struck a store security guard.
As Collier was taken into custody, officers found marijuana in his possession. He was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and harassment.
At 7:08 p.m. on May 21, Indiana officers stopped a vehicle in the 400 block of North Fourth Street driven by Joshua Cochran, 25, of Homer. During the stop, suspected marijuana and related items of paraphernalia were found.
The items were sent to the Pennsylvania State Police Crime Lab in Greensburg, and after analysis, Cochran was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
A Telex wireless intercom system was taken between Monday evening and 5:30 a.m. today from a van parked along the 1300 block of School Street.
Indiana police did not identify the victim of the theft.
At 2:47 a.m. on July 31, Indiana police stopped a vehicle along the 500 block of Water Street driven by Brandon Shaw, 23, of Indiana.
Police said Shaw was intoxicated and was charged with DUI.
East Wheatfield Township
Teresa Thompson, of Seward, told state police at Indiana that someone took the full-size spare tire from her vehicle while it was parked at 9512 Route 403.
Police said the tire was taken between Sunday night and Monday morning.
State police at Indiana said an 18-year-old male from Mount Morris, Mich., who was not identified, was taken by ambulance from Oakland Hall, along South 13th Street, to Indiana Regional Medical Center, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, for what was reported to be an overdose incident.
Police said the teen had consumed vodka and was intoxicated.
He was later released to a sober adult.
State police at Indiana said someone used a rock to break a side window and get inside the Maxine Butterbaugh residence, 3678 Metz Road, between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Monday.
Police said the burglar took jewelry, two digital cameras and loose change.
West Wheatfield Township
Someone stole 45 gallons of diesel fuel, valued at $180, from a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation excavator parked at the Mulligan Hill Road construction site.
State police at Indiana said the theft happened between Friday afternoon and Monday morning.
