Burrell Township

Fireworks seized

State troopers from a vice unit seized approximately $30,000 worth of what police said were illegal fireworks from Big Ed’s Outlet, Blairsville.

Police said the seizure was made following an alleged illegal sale to undercover officers at 5:45 p.m. Monday.

 

Homer City

Attempted burglary

Homer City police are investigating an attempted burglary at the Homer City swimming pool.

Police said someone scaled the fence at the pool Sunday night or Monday morning and tried to break into the men’s shower area, causing damage to a door.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Homer City police at (724) 479-9190.

White Township

Retail theft

State police at Indiana did not identify the juvenile arrested about 5 p.m. Monday at Walmart, Oakland Avenue.

Police said the juvenile took grocery items from the shelves, and without paying for them, ate them while walking through the store. Police said the youth also possessed metal knuckles, a prohibited offensive weapon.

The juvenile was charged with retail theft and possession of a prohibited weapon.

North Mahoning Township

Theft

Jessica Shotts, 30, of Smicksburg, told state police at Punxsutawney her purse and iPod Touch were stolen from her car along Route 210.

Police said the items were taken about 11 a.m. Monday.
