Theft

Someone stole a knife and a pill from an unlocked vehicle between midnight and 7 a.m. Tuesday in the 1400 block of Nixon Avenue, borough police reported. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at (724) 349-2121.

Graffiti

Borough police report that someone wrote “NEWL” on the side of a building at 935 Oakland Ave. sometime between 7 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at (724) 349-2121.

 

CENTER TOWNSHIP

Aggravated assault

State police at Indiana report that, during an argument, Jack Taylor, 59, of Homer City, fired a pistol in the air three times at 7:55 p.m. Friday at a home on Old Route 119. He was charged with aggravated assault, according to police.

 

DERRY TOWNSHIP, WESTMORELAND COUNTY

Criminal mischief

Someone slashed the tires of a vehicle owned by Kristi Penich, of Latrobe, on Sept. 25 at a Murtha Way location, state police at Greensburg reported.

A vehicle was damaged sometime between 4 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. Wednesday at a Menasha Lane residence. No additional information was available.
