Suspects jailed

Jordan McDermott, 22, of Loretto, Cambria County, assaulted a police officer and was held at Indiana County Jail following his arrest at 12:16 a.m. Sunday in the 600 block of Philadelphia Street, Indiana Borough police reported.

A court record of the charges against McDermott was not available.

Michael Newman, 18, of Media, Delaware County, was cited with disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and underage drinking at 2:26 a.m. Friday on Rice Avenue between School and Washington streets, and was detained at the county jail, borough police reported.

Borough police reported Wesley Thompson, 18, of Malvern, Chester County, was held at Indiana County Jail after being arrested at 10:03 p.m. Saturday on South 13th Street between Church and School streets. A court record of charges against Thompson was not available.

Wesley Falugh, 22, of Hollidaysburg, Blair County, was held at the county jail following his arrest at 4 a.m. Sunday in the Indiana Borough parking garage, where borough police reported he was found intoxicated.

Devon Neal, of Longmeadow, Mass., was found intoxicated at 3:58 a.m. Saturday on South Sixth Street between Washington and Grant streets, and was detained at Indiana County Jail, borough police reported.

Borough police reported Taylor Paolino, 21, of Las Vegas was lodged at Indiana County Jail at 12:47 a.m. Sunday after officers investigated a report of a theft from an unspecified business along the 600 block of Philadelphia Street.

A court record of charges against Paolino was not available.

Devin Wasylink, of Leechburg, was detained at the county jail at 1:59 a.m. Sunday after borough police found him intoxicated on South Carpenter Avenue between Philadelphia and Church Streets, according to a report.

Borough police reported Tyler Chresos, 23, of Indiana, was lodged at Indiana County Jail after officers investigated a report of an assault at 10:46 p.m. Saturday in the 300 block of North 10th Street. A court record of charges against Chresos was not available.

Skyler Wolfe, 18, of Pittsfield, Warren County, was detained at the county jail at 10:43 p.m. Saturday after borough police discovered him near Indiana First Bank along the 900 block of Philadelphia Street, according to a report.

Investigators reported that Wolfe fled from police and was subdued following a short foot chase. A court record of charges against Wolfe was not available.

Zachary Williams, 22, of West Mifflin, Allegheny County, and Shane Nycum, 22, of Roaring Spring, Blair County, were lodged at Indiana County Jail after borough police reported they were discovered intoxicated at 1:51 a.m. Sunday on South Seventh Street between School and South streets.

Borough police reported Lauren Barry, 21, of Macungie, Lehigh County, was found intoxicated at 3:44 a.m. Friday on North Clymer Avenue between Water and Oak streets and was detained at the county jail, Indiana Borough police reported.

A court record of charges against Barry was not available.

Caitlyn Lyons, 21, of Pittsburgh, was cited with public drunkenness at 2:07 a.m. Friday in the 900 block of Philadelphia Street, borough police reported.

Officers found Lyons unconscious, sent her to Indiana Regional Medical Center for treatment of intoxication and lodged her at the county jail, according to a report.

 

Narcotics

Police at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania campus charged Nunzio Cavallero, 18, of Lewis Run, McKean County, with possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, underage drinking and public drunkenness at 12:20 a.m. Sept. 27 on Maple Street near Pratt Drive.

Police first found Cavallero intoxicated, then discovered drug contraband during a pat down search, according to a news release.

 

Underage drinking

Breann Zeroski, 18, of McDonald, Washington County, was cited with underage drinking and public drunkenness by IUP campus police at 1:23 a.m. Sept. 28 on Maple Street at South 11th Street.

IUP campus police cited Benjamin Barley, 18, of Enola, Cumberland County, and Bryce Lonsway, 18, of Tiffin, Ohio, with underage drinking at 9:43 p.m. Sept. 27 during a traffic stop on South 11th Street near George P. Miller Stadium. Officers also cited Lonsway with a summary traffic offense.

 

Intoxication

Lindsey McDonald, 22, of Pittsburgh, and Philip Delprete, 23, of Clarks Summit, Lackawanna County, were cited with public drunkenness by Indiana Borough police at 1:21 a.m. Friday in the 600 block of Philadelphia Street.

White Township

Theft

Someone stole a postal package between 10 a.m. and 11 p.m. Sept. 29 from the front of Mahalia Moreau’s apartment along Grove Lane, state police at Indiana reported.

Brush Valley Township

Burglary

An intruder forced entry to the office at L&M Campground between 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday and used a hammer to break open a cash register, according to state police.

Burrell Township

Fraud

Jack McFarland, of Blairsville, told state police that someone used his bank account information on Sept. 22 at Walmart in Resort Plaza. Troopers gave no estimate of the loss.

Center Township

Hit-and-run

A car driven by Gary Zimmerman, of Somerset, Somerset County, was sideswiped by a vehicle at 6:34 a.m. Wednesday in the northbound lanes of Route 119 at Power Plant Road, state police at Indiana reported. The other vehicle failed to stop at the scene, according to troopers. No description of the hit-and-run vehicle was given.

Mischief

Someone damaged a car owned by Jon Horel, of Homer City, on Saturday on Pellegrene Drive, state police at Indiana reported.

Cherryhill Township

Theft

State police reported a former employee of J. Coy Trucking is suspected of using a company credit card for personal use between Sept. 27 and 30.

Troopers reported the suspect is a 36-year-old man from Follansbee, W.Va., but withheld his name and reported that charges have yet to be filed.

Canoe Township

Fraud

Sherry Tipton, of Church Road, Rossiter, told state police that she wired money through Western Union on Aug. 2 to an individual in New York to secure a loan but did not receive the funds.

A suspect has yet to be identified, according to troopers at Punxsutawney.

Hit-and-run

State police at Punxsutawney reported a pickup truck hit a car parked on Lower Clinton Street at 8:38 p.m. Saturday and the driver fled the area.

The truck was blue or black and had a ladder rack on the back. Troopers reported the truck sustained damaged to the front passenger side area.

Police did not identify the owner of the parked vehicle.

Cherry Tree

Vandalism

Someone threw a stone and damaged the siding of a house owned by Brent Landrum on Cherry Road between 12:30 and 2 a.m. Saturday, according to state police at Indiana.

Westover, Clearfield County

Burglary

State police at Punxsutawney reported someone entered Brian Knupp’s residence, 135 Michaels St., between Sept. 13 and 27, and stole a .22-caliber revolver, medicine and an unknown amount of money.

Derry Township, Westmoreland County

Access device fraud

Someone used a credit card belonging to Greg Hunter, of Wood Street, without authorization on June 3, state police at Greensburg reported.

Bell Township, Westmoreland County

Theft

Someone stole three Yamaha golf carts belonging to John and Carol Chernega, of Apollo, early last week at Cherrywood Golf Course, along Truxall Road near Apollo, state police reported.

Troopers at Kiski Valley reported the ignition keys had been left in each cart.
