Thefts

Alexander Quail, 21, of Baltimore, and Nicholas Gorbitz, 20, of Columbia, Md., were arrested by Indiana police for stealing lawn chairs from the patio of Boomerangs, in the 500 block of Philadelphia Street, at 3:05 a.m. Sunday. Both men were charged with theft and receiving stolen property, and Gorbitz was also charged with underage drinking.

A male, who was not identified by Indiana police, said someone stole $175 cash from his wallet while he was working out at the Hadley Union Building fitness center. The wallet was in an unlocked locker in the men’s locker room. Police said the cash was taken between 8 and 8:30 p.m. Monday.

About 4 p.m. Saturday, a purple and green Vera Bradley wallet was taken off the campus loop IndiGO bus, according to Indiana University of Pennsylvania police. The owner of the wallet was not identified by police.

 

Alcohol violations

IUP officers observed a man passed out on the hood of a vehicle in a parking lot along Oakland Avenue at 2:39 a.m. Sunday.

Police identified the man as Daniel Maharaj, 21, of Tampa, Fla. He was cited for public drunkenness and released to a sober adult.

At 2:07 a.m. Sunday, Indiana police found Suzanne Colesar, 20, of Clearfield, highly intoxicated in the 500 block of Gompers Avenue. She was charged with public drunkenness and underage drinking and was released to a sober adult.

Indiana police charged Abigail Fedigan, 18, and Shawn States, 20, both of Punxsutawney, with corruption of a minor, and States additionally was charged with furnishing alcohol to a minor.

Police received information that a 14-year-old juvenile was furnished alcohol at a party on Oct. 4 in the 1100 block of Grant Street. The juvenile was under the supervision of Fedigan and States, according to police.

 

Retail theft

Indiana police arrested Roberto Gonzalez, 23, of Hanover, for retail theft.

Police said Gonzalez stole a case of beer from the Giant Eagle Express along South Seventh Street at 2:29 a.m. Oct. 6.

Indiana police said Jeramy Colbert, 20, of Martinsburg, was caught stealing a bottle of chocolate milk from the Giant Eagle Express at 12:21 a.m. Oct. 6.

He was cited for retail theft and underage drinking.

Indiana officers dispatched to the Giant Eagle Express at 2:10 a.m. on Oct. 6 said Shannon Donnelly, 18, of Pittsburgh, left the store with a hoagie and a salad without paying.

Donnelly was arrested and cited for retail theft and underage drinking.

Indiana police said Jordan Lee, 18, of Pittsburgh, left the Giant Eagle Express at 2:10 a.m. Oct. 6 with food and a drink without paying.

He was arrested and cited for retail theft and underage drinking, police said.
