Retail theft

Borough police said they cited Tyisha Sharnae Smith-Byrd, 20, of Norristown, with retail theft and underage drinking. Police said Smith-Byrd had been drinking and took items from the Sheetz on Seventh Street early this morning.

Public drunkenness

IUP campus police said they cited Matthew Paul McConnell, 20, of Danville, with underage drinking and public drunkenness. Police said they found McConnell stumbling through some bushes at 210 S. 10th St. on Thursday morning.

Police also said McConnell ran from officers.

CANOE TOWNSHIP

Theft

State police in Punxsutawney are investigating the reported theft of $4,200 in cash from a safe at the home of Patrick Hopkins, 388 Brickell Road. Police said the theft is said to have occurred between 5 and 10 p.m. Friday.
