Police: Motel deaths may be murder-suicide
GRANTVILLE (AP) — State police have released the names of a man and woman found shot to death in a central Pennsylvania motel along with an unharmed infant, and they say the preliminary evidence indicates that it was a murder-suicide.
Police in Dauphin County say the bodies of Luis Angel Gerena-Morales, 21, and Savana Mercedes Silva, 22, were found just before 8 a.m. Tuesday in a room at the Cottage Inn motel in East Hanover Township.
The woman’s 5-month-old daughter was also in the room but was uninjured.
A state police spokesman said the evidence indicates that the woman shot the man before turning the weapon on herself.
Dauphin County Coroner Graham Hetrick said the two died shortly before they were found.
Police said earlier that they weren’t actively looking for anyone else.
