Principal convicted of open lewdness
PITTSBURGH (AP) — A suspended Pittsburgh Public Schools principal has been convicted of fondling himself and making sexual advances toward two men and a teenage boy in a health club’s sauna and showers.
Defense attorney Phil DiLucente didn’t immediately return calls for comment on the verdict against Alfonzo DeIuliis, 37. He was found guilty of open lewdness, unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors, harassment and indecent exposure for three separate victims, according to a published account.
The principal had claimed to be innocent and not even at the LA Fitness in suburban McCandless Township during two of the alleged incidents.
But Allegheny County Assistant District Attorney Kevin Chernosky told a jury “the chances that three people come forward making similar allegations just doesn’t happen.”
The defendant has been on unpaid leave from a PreK-8 school since the charges were filed in August. The alleged incidents occurred between February 2013 and his arrest.
A judge jailed the defendant until he can be sentenced.
