HOMER CITY — Homer-Center High School is proud to acknowledge and congratulate the mock trial team that is led by Christina Bruno.
The mock trial team is divided into two parts. The first part is defense, which consists of Michael Sweeney (defendant), Megan Topeka (expert witness) and Laura Jones (investigative reporter). The second part is prosecution, which consists of Logan Dellafiora, Shawn Steffee and Morgan Smith.
On Tuesday, Homer-Center picked up a win after months of hard work against Brockway High School in the Jefferson County Courthouse in Brookville. Their next mock trial will be at the Indiana County Courthouse against DuBois.
Our mock trial team proudly represents the character of Homer-Center School District. Team leader Bruno said “Watching them grow from a group with little to no knowledge in law to a great team is rewarding as an educator.”
This group of young, dedicated adults has been working hard for months with much-appreciated help from Magistrate Susanne Steffee, Senior Magistrate Mike Steffee, Attorney Mike Supinka and Pennsylvania State Police Troopers Rob Worcester and Scott Smith. Through their help and the leadership of Bruno, they have had success and look to continue their great accomplishments.
Bruno also said, “One of my favorite parts of being a mock trial coach is watching the students grow into professional attorneys and competent witnesses.”
Homer-Center School District wishes the best of luck to the mock trial team.
