Numerous defendants have been named in criminal charges filed before Magisterial District Judge Susanne Steffee, of Homer City.

Criminal complaints and affidavits of probable cause are not evidence of guilt in a criminal case. Defendants are entitled to legal representation and have the right to question the witnesses and evidence presented against them during preliminary hearings in the district court and at trials in the county court of common pleas.

Charged were:

Vincent Lee Casada, 47, of Water Street, Indiana, charged Dec. 1 by Indiana Borough police with misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats, harassment and simple assault and one summary count of harassment between 9:20 and 9:37 p.m. Nov. 30 at his residence. The harassment charge was moved to non-traffic court. The remaining charges were withdrawn.

Jeremy Michael Clawson, 33, of Watertower Road, Black Lick, charged Dec. 3 by state police with misdemeanor counts of retail theft and conspiracy between 8:43 and 10:47 a.m. Nov. 13 at Walmart in SouthTowne Plaza. The charges were held for court.

Thomas Allen Williams, 32, of South Second Street, Indiana, charged by state police Dec. 5 with one felony count of failure to comply with registration of sexual offenders requirements. Williams waived his right to a preliminary hearing and opted to face the charge in county court.

Wayne August Glessner, 57, of New Florence, charged by the Indiana County sheriff’s office Dec. 5 with two counts of driving under the influence and two driving violations at 5:53 p.m. Nov. 29 at Route 56 and Claghorn Road in Brush Valley Township. Glessner refused to submit to a blood test. Glessner waived his right to a preliminary hearing on the DUI charges and one summary offense. The remaining charge was withdrawn.

Carrie Ann Mitchell, 36, of Kettering Road, Creekside, charged Dec. 6 by state police with possession of a small amount of marijuana and disorderly conduct at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 5 at the Kmart pharmacy at the Indiana Mall. The disorderly conduct charge was moved to non-traffic court. The other charge was withdrawn.

Dana Jeanette Croyle, 38, of Nanty Glo, charged Dec. 10 by state police with two misdemeanor counts of theft, two felony counts of forgery and two felony counts of access device fraud between 10:14 and 10:38 a.m. Nov. 19 at Walmart in SouthTowne Plaza and S&T Bank at 34 N. Main St. in Homer City. The charges were held for court.

Jolene Nicole Bierer, 21, of Kittanning, charged by state police Dec. 11 with two counts of driving under the influence and three summary vehicle offenses at 2:50 a.m. Nov. 22 at Route 422 and Trim Tree Road in Armstrong Township. She had a blood alcohol level of 0.104 percent, court papers show. Bierer waived her right to a preliminary hearing on all charges except one of the DUI counts, which was withdrawn.

James Raymond Anderson, 27, of Anthony Road, White Township, charged Dec. 13 by state police with two counts of DUI and five summary infractions at 2:01 a.m. Dec. 1 at Sheetz, 525 Ben Franklin Road South. He had a BAC of 0.163 percent, court records show. The charges were waived for court.

Rachel Marie Leonard, 19, of White Township, charged by state police Dec. 12 with possession of drug paraphernalia at 1 a.m. Aug. 14 at Warren Road and Laurel Street. Leonard waived her right to a preliminary hearing and chose to face the charge in county court.

Ryan James Donoughe, 26, of Nanty Glo, charged by state police Dec. 13 with three counts of DUI and eight summary violations at 11:53 p.m. Oct. 19 at routes 422 and 954 in White Township. His BAC was 0.078 percent, court documents show. The charges were waived for court.

Derrick Michael Davis, 19, of Commodore, charged Dec. 13 by state police with two counts of DUI and three summary traffic offenses on Dec. 1 at Route 286 near Anthony Road in Center Township. His BAC was 0.180 percent, court papers show. A summary offense was withdrawn. The other charges were waived for court.

Sheina Joy Hooks, 40, of North Walnut Street, Blairs-ville, charged by state police Dec. 11 with making a false report at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 19 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. The charge was waived for court.

Daniel Neil Harasty, 20, of Pollock Road, Marion Center, charged Dec. 10 by state police with DUI and six summary offenses at 2 a.m. Nov. 11 along Route 286 in Center Township. He had a BAC of 0.046 percent, court records show. Three of the summary charges were withdrawn. The remaining charges were waived for court.

Christopher Thomas Pleuthner, 26, of Wyoming Drive, Blairsville, and Matthew Joseph Hartman, 26, of Warren Road, White Township, charged Dec. 19 by state police with possession of a small amount of marijuana at 12:25 a.m. Sept. 21 at Oakland Avenue and Rose Street in White Township. Pleuthner also was charged with three summary traffic violations, and Hartman also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Both pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana and each were fined $660.50; their remaining charges were withdrawn.

Mark Anthony Simms, 46, of Catawba Path Lane, Homer City, charged Dec. 11 by state police with two counts of DUI and two summary traffic infractions at 10:30 p.m. Nov. 24 along South Main Street near Bryan Street in Homer City. Simms had a BAC of 0.107 percent, court documents show. The charges were waived for court.

Chelsea Frances Rinehart, 24, of Belleville, N.J., charged by state police Dec. 11 with two counts of DUI and two summary traffic offenses at 3:10 a.m. Nov. 24 at South Sixth Street and Ferguson Road in White Township. Rinehart had a BAC of 0.189 percent, court records show. The charges were waived for court.

Mary Catherine Boggio, 51, of Grandview Avenue, White Township, charged by state police Dec. 11 with DUI and four summary traffic infractions at 12:50 a.m. Nov. 15 along Old Route 119 South near Two Lick Road in Center Township. Boggio had a BAC of 0.295 percent, court papers show. The charges were waived for court.

Melissa Dawn Taylor, 21, of Grandview Avenue, White Township, charged Dec. 11 by state police with possession of drug paraphernalia at 12 p.m. Oct. 15 along Race Street near East Elm Street in Homer City. Taylor waived her right to a hearing and chose to face the charge in court.

Alexander Scott Jennings, 19, of North Walnut Street, Blairsville, charged Dec. 19 by state police with three counts of DUI and five summary violations at 1:50 a.m. Sept. 23 along Route 119 near Lucerne Road in Center Township. Jennings had a BAC of 0.116 percent, court documents indicate. The charges were waived for court.

Scott Eldon Harper, 24, of Grant Street, Indiana, charged Dec. 24 by state police with two counts of DUI and three summary traffic infractions at 1:40 a.m. Nov. 10 along Route 119 in Center Township. He had a BAC of 0.117 percent. The charges were waived for court.

Cortney Lee Johnson, 29, of Delores Circle, White Township, charged by state police Dec. 31 with possession of drug paraphernalia at 8 p.m. Dec. 16 at her residence. The charge was waived for court.
