Tourist bureau launches photo contest

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Indiana County Tourist Bureau, the agency is conducting a photo contest beginning through Sept. 30.

The tourist bureau is looking for submitted photos that promote tourism in Indiana County, such as people, attractions, events, outdoor activities, architecture and scenic landscapes. Submit your unique, dynamic and even quirky photos that reflect the beauty of this region.

All photos must be in good taste and taken in 2012 or 2013 within the county lines.

Photos must be original to the person submitting them and not previously published or infringe on any copyrights or trademarks. Entrants must also have signed waivers from people in the photos.

Winners will be awarded the following overall prizes: Grand prize, $300 cash prize; first place, $250; second place, $200; third place, $150; fourth place, $100; fifth place,$50; sixth place, $25. Honorable mentions will receive an Indiana County T-shirt.

Photographs will be chosen for inclusion in the Indiana County Tourist Bureau promotional material to include printed brochures, calendar, website, digital photography, social media and email.
