The ToonSeum, 945 Liberty Ave., Pittsburgh, presents a weekend with legendary indie animator Bill Plympton, Friday and Saturday. At 6 p.m. Friday, the ToonSeum will host the opening reception of "The Art of Bill Plympton." Following the reception Plympton will head across town to Point Park University for a screening of some of his most iconic works. On Saturday, Plympton will teach an animation master class at the Point Park University in conjunction with the ToonSeum. The workshops will examine his career and techniques. All attendees of the workshop will receive a hand drawn sketch from Plympton.

Steel City Con, toy, comic book and pop culture convention, will be held from April 5-7 at the Monroeville Convention Center, Monroeville. Hours are 1 to 9 p.m. April 5, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. April 6 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 7. Three-day passes are $25, single day passes are $15 and children younger than 5 are admitted free. The Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium, is offering visitors an opportunity to attend Penguin Walks at 11:30 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays through March 31. Visitors can line up along the sidewalk to see the penguins marching. Penguin Walks are on a weather-permitting basis, and are included with general admission.
