Gary Spidell has announced his candidacy for Rayne Township supervisor.

Now retired, Spidell has 33 years of experience as a sales manager and 25 years of experience as a 4-H leader in livestock and shooting sports. In addition, he served 17 years as an elder and governing board member at Punxsutawney Alliance Church.

He is active with the Penn State Master Gardeners, and is a hunter and fisherman.

Spidell and his wife, Connie McMillen Spidell, have three sons: Jeremy, of Greensboro, N.C.; Chad, of Spring Mills; and Cory, of Pittsburgh.

“I want to have contact with Rayne Township residents to provide better communication and see what needs residents have,” Spidell said in a release.

He also said he wants to have open communication with the workers to better understand their needs and be responsible with the residents’ tax money.
