BERLIN — German authorities have given Justin Bieber, 19, four weeks to pick up his pet monkey or it will be placed in permanent care.

The capuchin monkey was seized by German customs Thursday when the singer failed to produce the necessary customs documents after landing in Munich.

Reporters from around the world have besieged the city animal shelter where Mally the monkey is being kept in quarantine.

The shelter said in a statement Tuesday that the 14-week-old animal shouldn’t have been taken away from its mother until it was a year old.

German media report that several zoos have offered to give the monkey a home if the Canadian singer doesn’t reclaim it in time.

A Bieber representative did not immediately respond to an emailed request for comment.

TRENTON, N.J. — Guitarist Richie Sambora will not be performing with Bon Jovi during the current leg of the band’s Because We Can tour.

The band, on its website, cited “personal issues.” The band says all shows will go on as scheduled. No other information was given.

Hours before the announcement late Tuesday, Sambora, 53, tweeted that he was “Watching more of the ‘Every Road Leads Home To You’ cover videos.”

That was a reference to a fan contest promoting a song on his solo album, “Aftermath of the Lowdown.”

Sambora has struggled with substance abuse and has done several stints in rehab.

Bon Jovi is slated to perform in Edmonton, Alberta, today and the current leg of the tour is scheduled to end April 25 in San Jose, Calif.

BATON ROUGE, La. — Southern University’s marching band continues to grow its brand, being featured on the Jonas Brothers’ new single, “Pom Poms,” and in the accompanying video.

The video premiered Tuesday.

It’s the Jonas Brothers’ first video shot together in nearly four years.

The video, shot over 10 hours Feb. 16 on a high school football field in St. John Parish, opens with SU drum major Kelan Norman blowing his whistle as he would at any of the band’s halftime shows.

The band, nicknamed “The Human Jukebox,” also closes the video with one of the band’s patented dance steps.

The past 18 months have been a whirlwind for the band and the Dancing Dolls, who performed with Madonna during halftime of the 2012 Super Bowl and during the 2013 Super Bowl’s pregame show.
