HOMER CITY — Homer-Center Junior/Senior High School put on a fantastic performance April 5 of the play “You Can’t Take It With You.”

It was the school’s senior play, led by Lou Stepanik, who directed the play. After months of hard work and plenty of practices, the whole cast put on a great performance.

Looking to the spring sports scene, the junior high volleyball team has started their season with a 1-2 record. Track has also recently gotten under way as team members look to build off of success they had a year ago.

Homer-Center would also like to congratulate our family and consumer science teacher, Patricia Zimmer, for winning Pennsylvania’s 2013 FCS Teacher of the Year.

Zimmer was honored at a dinner held at their Pittsburgh convention last weekend.

Good luck to the following 10 students who will be attending the Future Business Leaders of America state competition in Hershey Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday: Kristina Albright, Julia Buggey, Tory Dellafiora, Kayla Piper, Madison Smith, Morgan Smith, Justin Smyers, Michael Sweeney, Megan Topeka and Rachel Worcester.
