The IUP ROTC department inducted Lt. Col. (retired) Barry Gasdek as its first member of the ROTC hall of fame at a ceremony Saturday at Pierce Hall on campus.

Unveiling a plaque was IUP President Michael Driscoll, center, and Gasdek. At left is Lt. Col. David Myers, professor of military science at IUP.

Gasdek entered the Army after graduating from the IUP ROTC program in 1964. He served two tours in Vietnam, and survived being shot down twice and crashing once. He earned the Distinguished Service Cross.
