Indiana University of Pennsylvania will celebrate the inauguration of its 26th president, Michael Driscoll, on Friday at 3 p.m.
The event, free and open to the community, will be held in the IUP Performing Arts Center’s Fisher Auditorium.
Some 30 delegates from colleges and universities across the country will attend the ceremony, which will focus on the inaugural theme, “Building on a tradition of excellence and opportunity to inspire success.” The ceremony will also include a musical timeline and presentation of ceremonial gifts.
“The celebration is designed to symbolize and highlight key aspects of both the institution’s and the region’s history,” Driscoll said in a release.
“This recognition of our rich history, combined with the inaugural theme, sets the stage for our future growth together.”
Driscoll began his presidency at IUP on July 1.
The ceremony will be broadcast via a live webcast at iup.nmtvsports.com/.
