ART/MUSEUM EXHIBITS

The Artists Hand Gallery, 732 Philadelphia St., Indiana, presents “The University Museum Goes Downtown,” through May 4. The show features 20th- and 21st-century paintings and drawings from the permanent collection of the University Museum at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

ARTS CAMP

The Indiana Art Association will be holding its 13th annual Arts Camp this July. The elementary (grades 1 through 6) will take place from July 15 to 19 at the East Pike Elementary School, secondary (grades 7 through 12), will take place July 22 through 26 with the morning art class at The Artist’s Hand Gallery and the afternoon theater and music classes at the Indiana Players Playhouse on Philadelphia Street. Both groups will have a show and reception the Friday evening following their week of camp.

Students will have classes in art, drama and music. Older students will have classes in music for the first time this year. Students will sign up for the grade they are now completing — not their grade for the next school year. The elementary camp will run from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with a break for lunch. The cost for the week will be $125 for full-day camp (entries received before June 15 will have a $25 discount) or $90 for one subject. Secondary camp will begin with an art class at The Artists Hand Gallery from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., have an hour lunch break, then will resume at The Indiana Playhouse with a theater class from noon to 2 p.m. and a music class from 2 to 4 p.m. Cost for the week is $150, with a $25 discount fee before June 15. The teachers for the elementary levels for theater include Robyn Bailey-Orchard and Megan Klingensmith. Marc Nelson will be teaching music. Art teachers will include Jill Shinsky, Jess Green and Greg Hartnett. Junior and senior high teachers this year include Robyn Bailey-Orchard, drama; Marc Nelson, music; and Arlene Miller, art.

DANCE

The Jimmy Stewart Museum will present the following matinees at 1 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays in the third-floor theater:

Cowhand Stewart is changed by O’Hara’s conviction that her Hereford bull, new to Texas, will produce better cattle.
