Anna Harkleroad, a junior at Purchase Line High School, participated in the 2013 NAfME (National Association for Music Education) All-Eastern Honors Treble Voice Chorus on April 7 in Hartford, Conn.

She is the daughter of Jean Harkleroad and Shae Harkleroad, of Mahaffey. Paula Saylor is her choral director at Purchase Line.

Harkleroad was chosen for this prestigious ensemble as a result of her achievement in last year’s PMEA (Pennsylvania Music Educators Association) All-State Chorus.

The All-Eastern Honors Ensembles (Concert Band, Symphony Orchestra,

Treble Voice Chorus, Mixed Chorus and Jazz Ensemble) are comprised of exceptional student musicians from 12 states in the northeastern region of the United States.

The Treble Voice Chorus rehearsed and performed under the direction of Dr. Janet Galv£n, professor of music at Ithaca (N.Y.) College.
