Jim Rushton, a trustee of Dixonville Moose Lodge 833, presented four dozen Tommy Moose dolls to Citizens’ Ambulance Service on Wednesday.

The Dixonville Moose lodge donated 48 Tommy Moose dolls to Citizens’ Ambulance to distribute to children in stressful or traumatic situations who ambulance personnel encounter.

The idea is that it gives children in these situations a soothing object on which to refocus their attention.

The Tommy Moose program helps children overcome fears and anxiety during time of stress. They are donated nationwide to law enforcement, fire and other emergency workers.

Moose lodges across the country and in Canada have purchased more than 100,000 of these plush dolls, to be carried with emergency responders.
