One thing professional athletes do not have to worry about is health care. Teams want their players healthy; they want to get their money’s worth.

Longevity on the playing field is paramount, because for every year a player remains competitive, millions of dollars may be earned. On a personal note, last year I was given the opportunity to play a round of golf with the Pittsburgh Penguins’ assistant coach, Todd Reirden. During one of our conversations on injury prevention, Reirden emphasized the importance of chiropractic care in the Penguins organization.

He credited chiropractic care for not only lengthening his long career in the NHL but stated several of the Penguins players would not be playing now without it.
