LIGONIER — Ligonier Valley advanced to the District 6 Class AA girls’ softball championship game, defeating Huntingdon, 4-3, in the semifinals Thursday.
Trailing 1-0, the Rams plated all four of their runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Jeannie Markosky smacked a two-run double, and Hannah Yeskey and Maddy Grimm each added RBI singles.
Hailey Umbaugh struck out five and walked two, allowing three runs on six hits to earn the win.
Ligonier (16-3), the No. 10 seed, will face top-seeded Philipsburg-Osceola in the championship game Wednesday at Penn State. Philipsburg-Osceola defeated Bellwood-Antis, 1-0, in Thursday’s other semifinal.
Physicals set at Indiana
Physicals for students at Indiana junior and senior high schools planning to participate in a sport in the 2013-14 school year will be held Saturday, June 15, at the high school.
Physicals will be conducted according to the following schedule: ninth through 12th grades, last names beginning with A-M, 8 a.m.; last names beginning with N-Z, 9 a.m.; junior high, last names beginning with A-M, 9:45 a.m.; and last names beginning with N-Z, 10:15 a.m.
No physicals will be administered after 11 a.m. There is no charge.
Students should bring a completed pre-participation physical form and wear shorts and a T-shirt. Forms can be picked up in the junior or senior high nurse’s office or main office or can be downloaded from the school website, www.iasd.cc.

Camp set at Penns Manor
KENWOOD — The Penns Manor High School boys’ and girls’ basketball program will hold a camp this summer.
The camp will be held June 17 to 21 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. It is open to any boy or girl entering grades 3 to 7.
The cost is $50 before June 1 and $60 after May 31.
