ARMSTRONG TOWNSHIP — A 59-year-old man was killed in a house fire early this morning on Buckley Road near Five Points.

Indiana County Deputy Coroner Jerry Overman said Terry Pease, 59, of 1 Buckley Road, was declared dead when he arrived at the scene at 7:11 a.m. The cause of death is pending an autopsy at the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Overman said the house was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived shortly before 5 a.m., and that there were no signs of life inside the home.

Creekside Fire Chief Peter Yacovone said this morning that Pease was the only occupant of the home. The chief also said that he did not know where the fire began and that the cause is still being investigated. A state fire marshal was on the scene at press time today.

No firefighters were injured, Yacovone said.
