The Heritage Conference announced its all-conference baseball and softball teams earlier this week.
Members of the baseball team are Blairsville’s Reed Ratkus and Bobby Thompson, Homer-Center’s Austin Fairman, Ligonier Valley’s Ryan Torrance, Marion Center’s C.J. Stiles, Northern Cambria’s Josh Bonatesta, Penns Manor’s Kasey Jewart, Purchase Line’s Darren Bingaman, Saltsburg’s Mitchel Yard, and United’s Bailey Skavang.
Members of the softball team are Blairsville’s Sam Harsh, Homer-Center’s Abby Plowcha, Ligonier Valley’s Maddy Grimm and Hailey Umbaugh, Marion Center’s Megan Risinger, Northern Cambria’s Bre Sabella, Purchase Line’s Kyra Smith, and United’s Lyda Bartlebaugh.
IHS scholar athletes honored
Five students from the Indiana school district received the annual Robeson Scholar Athlete Award.
Three Indiana Junior High School athletes, Abby Myers, Jessica Stever and Reed Harkleroad, and two Indiana High School athletes, Luke Lewandowski and Lucy Bujdos, each received the award.
Physicals set at Indiana
Physicals for students at Indiana junior and senior high schools who are planning to participate in a sport in the 2013-14 school year will be held at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, at the high school.
Students should bring a completed pre-participation physical form and wear shorts and a T-shirt.
Forms can be picked up in the junior or senior high school nurse’s office, athletic office or main office or can be downloaded from www.iasd.cc.
There is no charge.
No physicals will be administered after 11 a.m.

Physicals set at Homer-Center
HOMER CITY — Physicals for Homer-Center varsity, junior varsity and junior high sports will be administered on Wednesday in the high school nurse’s suite according to the following schedule:
Boys in grades 11 and 12, 7:30 a.m.; girls in grades 11 and 12, 8:15 a.m.; girls in grades 9 and 10 at 9 a.m.; boys in grades 9 and 10, 9:45 a.m.; girls grades 7 and 8, 10:30 a.m.; and boys in grades 7 and 8, 11:15 a.m.
The fee is $25 per exam, Athletes should to bring their completed PIAA exam packet.

IHS slates girls’ camp
The Indiana High School girls’ basketball team will hold its skills camp for girls entering grades 2 through 7 from June 10 through June 13, from 8 a.m. to noon, at the high school.
IHS varsity players and coaches will aid in basketball instruction.
The cost is $70.
