Samuel W. Longwell was recognized at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremony on April 6. Samuel’s family, Troop 24 and community members were in attendance.

Samuel is the 15-year-old son of Mark and Elizabeth Longwell, of Homer City. Samuel earned his Eagle Scout rank on Dec. 29 in the 100th anniversary year of Eagle Scouts in the United States.

Samuel’s Eagle Scout project was the restoration of the Floodway Park sign and nature trail in Homer City.

Samuel selected Jim Rado and scoutmaster Mark Longwell to receive Mentor pins for all the help they have given him on his Scouting journey.

Samuel has earned a Bronze Eagle Palm and plans to continue earning palms and being an active Scout with Troop 24.
