Lorelli’s claims league title
Lorelli’s Jewelry of the Marion Center Little League edged Sheetz of the Clymer Little League, 9-8 in eight innings, to win the championship in the 9- and 10-year old division of the combined Clymer/Marion Center/ Homer-Center Little League.
Tanner MacBlane hit a two-run inside-the-park home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift Lorelli’s. Marcus Badzik banged out a triple, a double and two singles.
Jack Shearer picked up the win, allowing one run in two innings of relief.
Kody Templeton cranked out five hits and Austin Hill had four for Sheetz.
Both teams advanced to the District 7 East championship tournament against Indiana Little League teams.
McGill’s wins city crown
McGill’s beat McDonald’s, 9-6, to win the Indiana Little League 11- and 12-year-old City Championship on Saturday,
Brandon Boyer smacked a three-run home run to break a 6-6 tie in the fifth inning. Luke Wachob and Malcolm Sadler drove in two hits apiece for McGill’s.
Eddy Williams picked up the win, pitching three innings and striking out six. Boyer pitched the last two innings and struck out the side in the bottom of the sixth.
Luke Thomas stroked three hits and Colin Carnahan hit a home run for McDonald’s.
Clymer Legion tops Fezell
PUNXSUTAWNEY — Clymer Legion scored four runs in the third inning and beat Fezell Enterprises, 6-3, in an Indiana County Youth Legion baseball game Sunday.
Ron Button came on in relief in the second inning and scattered nine hits and three walks over six innings to pick up the win for Clymer Legion. He entered the game with the score tied 2-2 and yielded a lone run in the third inning. He struck out three and walked three.
Brad Remaley and Roman Tate each two hits for Clymer Legion, and Remaley drove in two runs. Garrett Crowe and Mike Hildebrand also drove in runs.
Joey DiPietro had three hits and Caleb Smith two for Fezell.
Peyton Graham struck out seven and walked three in five innings for Fezell Enterprises.
Both teams play this evening. Fezell Enterprises plays at Indiana Lions, and Clymer Legion visits Marion Center.
