SANDLOT BASEBALL: Dodgers claim another LL title

BLAIRSVILLE — The Cavalancia Dodgers won their second straight Blairsville Little League title by defeating the Blairsville Elks, 6-2, in the second game of a best-of-three series championship series Saturday.

Tyler Moran paced the Dodgers with a pair of two-run homers, a single and three runs scored. Moran also combined with fellow pitcher Karrick Cavender to rack up 13 strikeouts. Moran struck out the side in the sixth inning to end the game.

Nick Hrebik cracked a pair of doubles to pace the Elks. Larson Dolan pitched five innings in a losing effort.

• McGill’s beat Clymer Luigi’s, 7-4, on Tuesday in the first round of the Little League district playoffs.

Luke Wachob had three hits, and Joey Bujdos and Clark Josephson had two hits apiece for McGill’s. Joseph Spohn struck out five batters and earned the win.
