Zack's wins softball slugfest

BLACK LICK — Zack’s Auto Sales/Eagles tallied 47 hits and outslugged Boomerang’s, 38-21, in an Indiana County Softball League game Thursday evening at Saylor Park.

Eric Elliott went 6-for-6 for Zack’s, and Dan Hullenbaugh hit for the cycle. Jason Sleasman added two inside-the-park home runs.

Steve Timko, Brad McClure and winning pitcher Dusty Reeger totaled five hits each.

McGill’s wins tourney game

McGill’s beat Luigi’s, 15-5, in a District 7 Little League playoff game Thursday.

Joey Budjos stroked four hits and Luke Wachob smacked three for McGill’s.

Eddy Williams picked up the win. He struck out five.

McGill’s plays Marion Center Eye Care in the championship round.

Marion Center, Sanso’s split

Marion Center handed Sanso’s its first loss of the season, 14-9, in the second game of a 14-and-under girls’ fastpitch softball game Thursday.

Sanso’s won the opener, 17-3.

Jess Gess led Marion Center’s victory with a pair of hits, and Sierra Filipovich hit a double.

Laken Ryen picked up the win.

Morgan Buggey had two hits for Sanso’s.

In the opener, Emily Worcester and Buggey each banged out three hits to lead Sanso’s.

Worcester also posted the win.
