• The Indiana Lions’ Club 4th of July Celebration will be held at J.S. Mack Memorial Park, White Township. The schedule includes a flea market at 8 a.m.; Marion Center Lions’ Pet Parade at 9:30 a.m.; demolition derby and tractor derby at 1 p.m., (ticket sales start at 9 a.m.); and a car cruise from 1 to 5 p.m. Food, vendors, face painting, clowns, games, entertainment, a mechanical bull, inflatable bouncing rides and a photo booth throughout the day and fireworks at dusk by Starfire Corp.

• Paddling the Lakes will be held from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Yellow Creek State Park, off Route 422 east of Penn Run. Join park naturalist Mike Shaffer and the regional outdoor recreation coordinator to kayak on Yellow Creek Lake. They will provide basic instruction and then take two hours to explore sights and sounds paddling along the lake.
